This gave rise to “goddess” gowns in fiery red, hand-embroidered with hundreds of thousands of beads and crystals, and flame-printed chiffon ball-dresses with “wings” of fabric which floated behind the models.
Red silk tulle and chiffon fashioned intricately-draped and swathed gowns with a single, crystal-and-pearl beaded sleeve. Red ostrich feathers were “woven” into sequin-strewn angora for fitted dresses and suits, belted in ruby velvet. via{telegraph}

"Sitting at his desk in the Chanel studio yesterday, he pulled out a sketch-pad and drew the simple line he believes in now: essentially an exaggerated, rounded shoulder, a cropped bolero, and the narrow, high stem of a waist." via{Vogue}

updated May 23 w/ Video of Show
John Galliano presented the Christian Dior 2011 Cruise collection with the city skyline as it's backdrop. Shanghai sure seems like the new "it" place to showcase runway collections. The show was opened with model Karlie Kloss, and also featured, Joan Small, Rose Cordero, Liu Wen, Lais Ribeiro and others. I adored the colour palette blue, pink and yellow pastels and lovely embroidered silk & organza gowns. View more of the collection below.
